Setting up a light in the dashboard (widget type "Light")

Updated 9 October 2026Lighty

This is how you set up a single light in the dashboard. You go to Lighting and then to Add widget and work through four steps. This article describes the Light type: switching and dimming over a single channel. For colour there is the Ambient light type, and for warm and cool white in one light the White light type, both with their own article.

1. Choose the widget type

Choose Light (switching & dimming). With it you configure exactly one channel, for example a single warm white strip.

Choose the widget type: Light, Ambient light and White light

2. Choose the module

Choose the Lighty the light is connected to. If you have installed several Lightys, name them after where they are installed, for example "Lighty bed". Then they are easy to tell apart here. You can rename them under Connections and there under Modules.

Choose the module: Lighty with a meaningful name

3. Choose the channel

The dashboard shows you the channels that are still free, labelled as on the housing: R, G, B, WW, CW. Channels already in use are marked. Choose the channel your light is connected to.

4. Configure

  • Name and icon for the tile, for example "Bed light".
  • Fuse: at which current it switches off and how quickly: fast, normal or slow. The highest value you can choose results automatically from the current still available, up to 20A in total across all channels.
  • Voltage protection: undervoltage (UVP) and overvoltage (OVP) protect your battery, simply activate them.
  • External switch: whether a wall push button or a switch is connected to the channel.
  • Wireless push buttons: which buttons of your paired wireless push buttons switch this light, several are possible too, for example at the entrance and at the bed.

Done. The light appears as its own tile and can now be operated from the wall push button, the wireless push button, the SmartKnob and the dashboard.
