What is Ampy?
Ampy is the central power distribution in your camper. Six loads, for example water pump, fridge, fan, lights, heating and awning, are connected to one device that switches, protects, measures and even dims each one of them. Four tasks that used to need four components are now in one box: fuse box, relays, dimmer and current measurement.
The difference in everyday use
- Instead of conventional fuses you simply set the fuse value. Tripping no longer means looking for a spare fuse, but resetting it in the dashboard.
- Instead of guessing you see live what each output draws: voltage, current and power, measured instead of estimated.
- Instead of extra wiring you operate everything with a wall push button, the SmartKnob or the dashboard.
And all of this completely local in the vehicle, without cloud and without needing internet. Ampy works together with the other modules in the Camper Jarvis system: water from Fluidy, battery from Volty, light from Lighty, heating from Heaty.
Keeps working without the SmartKnob
Your wall push buttons are connected directly to the module, and all settings are stored in the device itself. If the SmartKnob fails, you simply keep switching and dimming at the push button, and the protection functions stay active. Only the display, dashboard, automations and the double tap for all lights pause until the SmartKnob is back. This is a fallback, not a permanent state: without the SmartKnob you cannot change settings such as fuse values, and dimming only works with push buttons, not with switches. Even a freshly connected device responds to its push buttons straight away, without any setup.
