Conformity and testing: RED, RoHS, GPSR
In short: the Camper Jarvis devices meet the EU rules that make sure a radio device is safe, does not interfere with other devices, contains no banned hazardous substances and can be disposed of correctly. Here are the details.
Jarvis Labs GmbH declares that the Camper Jarvis radio devices comply with the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) and meet the applicable EU requirements on product safety, material composition and disposal.
RED: the rules for radio devices
The Radio Equipment Directive specifies that a radio device is safe and does not interfere with other devices. The SmartKnob is fully certified.
SmartKnob, Volty Pro, Fluidy Pro, Heaty, Thermy, Lighty, Ampy and Switchy communicate with their own radio technology in the 2.4GHz band (2400 to 2483.5MHz, ISM band), with a transmit power below 20dBm EIRP. The SmartKnob also has a short-range radar sensor in the 60 to 61GHz band that detects whether someone is nearby.
That the devices do not interfere with other electronics (EMC) and are electrically safe is demonstrated through the harmonised standards EN 301 489-1/-17, EN 300 328 and EN IEC 62368-1.
RoHS: no banned hazardous substances
The devices contain no lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE and none of the four regulated phthalates above the permitted maximum values.
GPSR: general product safety
Jarvis Labs GmbH is clearly identifiable as the manufacturer, with name, address and contact details in the legal notice. Every module has a rating plate with model designation and serial number. The safety and warning notices are written in German.
WEEE: disposal of old devices
How to dispose of old devices separately or send them back to us is explained in Disposing of old devices correctly (WEEE).
