Temperature-Sensor at a glance
Accurate to ±0.5°C
Digital reading, long cables and interference in the vehicle change nothing.
Made for drinking water
3 m cable made of food-grade silicone, waterproof metal probe.
Frost protection on autopilot
When the tank gets cold, the system switches on the heating or opens the drain valves.
Hot water to measure
The boiler widget heats to the real temperature in the tank, ideally with solar power.
Several sensors, one line
Fluidy Pro reads up to five temperatures, each with its own name.
Ready to plug in
Connector and PG7 cable gland included: connect, name it, done.
Frequently asked questions about Temperature-Sensor
How do I connect the temperature sensor?
The sensor has three wires that go into the supplied 3-pin plug:
- Red to pin 1, the power supply
- Yellow to pin 2, the measuring signal
- Black to pin 3, minus (GND)
Plug it into the temperature port on Fluidy. Then add the sensor in the dashboard and give it a name, for example "Boiler" or "Fresh water tank".
How many temperature sensors can I connect?
Fluidy Pro reads up to five temperature sensors at the same time. They all share one common line, so you only need the one temperature port on Fluidy. Each sensor gets its own name and shows up separately on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard.
How do I wire several sensors in parallel?
Connect the wires of the same colour together: red to red, yellow to yellow, black to black. The most reliable way is a short cable from the plug to a distribution point near the sensors, for example a small terminal block, from which the individual sensors branch off. This holds better than clamping all wires directly into the plug.
Work neatly: because all sensors are on the same line, a single bad joint takes all of them out. Step by step in our guide Installing temperature sensors.
Can the sensor go into the drinking water tank?
Yes. The cable is made of food-grade silicone and the metal probe is waterproof. For a sealed feed-through, use the included PG7 cable gland: drill a hole of about 12.5 mm in the tank wall, fit the gland and tighten it around the cable.
How accurate is the temperature sensor?
The sensor measures to ±0.5°C. It transmits its reading digitally to Fluidy, so the cable length and electrical interference in the vehicle do not change the value.
Where does a temperature sensor make sense?
- Fresh water tank: if the water heads towards 0°C, the water tank widget switches on the tank heating or opens the drain valves.
- Boiler: you see the water temperature live, and the boiler widget heats to your target temperature.
- Heating return or interior: shows you how well your diesel heater is working.
- Fridge compartment or outside air: helps with troubleshooting and is simply handy on your travels.
