What happens if the Wi-Fi is gone?

Updated 9 October 2026SmartKnob

If the SmartKnob loses the connection to your Wi-Fi, it automatically opens its own Wi-Fi again. The name and password are the same as during setup.

This happens, for example, when the router is off, you are on a different pitch or you are simply out of range. You then connect your phone directly to the SmartKnob's Wi-Fi and reach the dashboard just like during the first setup.

Back to your usual Wi-Fi

In the background the SmartKnob regularly checks whether your usual Wi-Fi is back. As soon as it is, it logs back in there by itself and closes its own Wi-Fi. You do not have to do anything.

Good to know: you need neither internet nor a customer account to operate it, so your camper stays fully operable even without a Wi-Fi router. You can see which Wi-Fi the SmartKnob is currently on at any time on the SmartKnob under Connections and there under Wi-Fi network.
