Smart control for the diesel heater in your camper: how it works
Your existing diesel heater can be controlled smartly without replacing it. The Heaty module is connected directly to your heater with the matching wiring harness, which is included. After that you set the target temperature, heating or ventilation, timer and operating mode on your phone, tablet or SmartKnob.
Which heaters work
Currently the Autoterm 2D and 4D, Timberline 1.0 and 2.0, the Webasto Air Top and the Eberspächer Airtronic S2 and S3. More Eberspächer heaters and air conditioners as well as Truma and Alde will follow.
What this changes
Every diesel heater comes with its own control panel, usually with complicated operation. With Heaty, control of the heater sits where light, water and energy are too: in one interface for the whole vehicle. Everything runs locally in the vehicle, without cloud and without having to use an app.
You choose the temperature sensor yourself
When you create the widget, you decide which sensor provides the temperature. For example the SmartKnob's internal sensor in the living area instead of a sensor directly on the heater. That way the control is based on the place where you actually are.
Automations are what make it really good
Preheat in the morning before the alarm goes off. Lower the temperature at night. Or start automatically when the temperature drops below a certain value. You can still control it by hand at any time.
What you need
- A Heaty with the wiring harness for your heater, which you choose when you order
- A SmartKnob as the central unit of the system
The wiring harness is always included in the scope of delivery. Heaty takes its power directly from the heater through it, so you do not need an extra power cable. One Heaty is used per heater: if you have two independent heaters, you add a second module.
