New in October: heating on the knob, wedge heights for every wheel and clear fuse messages
Share
Since the beginning of October there is new firmware for the SmartKnob, Heaty, Lighty and Fluidy. Some of it you notice with the first turn, the rest works quietly in the background and makes everything run even more reliably. Here are the highlights.
Level ground without guesswork
Anyone who has walked around a camper with levelling wedges and a spirit level knows the drill: wedge under, check, wedge out, other wedge. Not anymore.
In the dashboard you pick your vehicle once by its length. From then on the vehicle level widget shows not only the tilt across and along, but also how many centimetres of wedge belong under each wheel. On the SmartKnob itself there is a spirit level you can keep an eye on while you manoeuvre.
Your heater right on the knob
The SmartKnob has a heating page of its own. Pick your heater and control it right on the knob, no phone and no extra control panel needed.
The new Heaty adds more:
- Autoterm: the heater no longer switches to power mode by itself, for example after a power cut. If you choose power mode on purpose, it stays that way.
- Timberline 2.0: switch your floor heating on and off with its own target temperature. “All off” now switches it off too.
- Timberline: a heating zone can follow the temperature sensor in your SmartKnob, so you heat to the temperature where you actually sit. You decide per zone which sensor controls it.
When a fuse trips, you know why straight away
Until now a tripped fuse was simply a device that stopped working. Now your SmartKnob shows you which device is affected and what happened.
Leak, tank and fuse alarms now all alert the same way, with light and sound. Shore power gets clear hints too: if live and neutral are swapped you see a yellow notice, and if voltage protection has switched off an output, it says so plainly.
Light and switches
- The light page on the SmartKnob is new, with a reworked colour wheel. The LED ring lights up while you press. If you don't like that, turn it off.
- Wireless switches can be assigned button by button. Several buttons can switch the same light, for example at the door and at the bed.
- A new Lighty switches one channel per Lighty Extension button straight away, even before you set it up.
- Pairing with the SmartKnob and the response of wireless switches are more reliable.
Setup gets easier
There is a new setup assistant in the dashboard. It guides you through connecting step by step, using your own Wi-Fi or the SmartKnob hotspot. And the dashboard now fits iPad and tablets properly.
And also
- The roof control only moves while you hold the button. End switches on Ampy inputs are supported.
- The tank alarm no longer warns about a tank that is well filled, and tank statistics pause while you drive.
- Ampy saves its over- and undervoltage limits per channel.
- The Wi-Fi QR code works with special characters in the password.
- Ective CSI: charge settings are now adjustable. Please update Volty as well.
- Fluidy no longer wrongly shows a level sensor as outdated when the tank is empty.
- If you pick the file of another device on the update page by mistake, you now get a clear message.
- The display runs more smoothly, and the SmartKnob no longer wakes up without being touched.
How to get the new versions
If your SmartKnob has internet, it finds updates by itself and shows them in the dashboard. Your modules receive their updates through the dashboard too. Travelling without internet? Download the files beforehand on the Firmware & updates page and install them in the van.
